HTML Header Block

The Header block is the top most block in the media portal design, all content will be displayed above the main navigation and will be persistent acrosss all pages on the site. This area is an open html block that is often used to add logos and other branding. Simple graphics can be loaded into the portal and displayed in this block. Likewise custom html can be created to advance design to this block. All standard HTML capabilities are available in this block.

This Footer block is an html block that will be displayed directly above the bottom navigation. This area is an open html block that is often used to add content not typically created by the media portal template. Simple graphics can be loaded into the portal and displayed in this block. Likewise custom html can be created to advance design to this block. All standard HTML capabilities are available in this block.

Colors

The color selector provides extensive opportunity to change the color palette of your media portal portal. Each template in the V3 System will utilize these color variables in a different fashion.

The colors that are available to alter are:

Global Colors

These are used throughout the template and can be considered master element colors. Every template will utilize these colors differently. For example, in the verticle style template, Global Color 1 sets the overall background color of the site. Wherever the background color is visible throughout the site, it will derive its color from Global Color 1.

This template utilizes 6 global colors. They are used as follows:

Global Color 1 - Site-wide background color

Global Color 2 - Header background color

Global Color 3 - Top nav background color

Global Color 4 - Bottom nav background color

Global Color 5 - Footer background color

Global Color 6 - Currently unused in this template

Heading Colors

Heading colors affect what is commonly call H1 font sizes. These are usually the largest fonts visible on a webpage. We currently have 6 Heading colors available to change. Locations of where these colors are used can be found on in the admin for ease of understanding where they are utilized.

This Template utilizes 6 Heading colors. They are used as follows:

Heading Color 1 - Main body titles

Heading Color 2 - City / Date

Heading Color 3 - Start time / login text

Heading Color 4 - Page titles

Heading Color 5 - Section titles

Heading Color 6 - Heading color fallback

Body Text Colors

Body colors affect what is commonly called B1 font sizes. These usually display as smaller fonts than the H1 fonts. We utilize 6 body font colors in this template. Locations of where these colors are used can be found on in the admin for ease of understanding where they are used.

This Template utilizes 6 Heading colors. They are used as follows:

Body Color 1 - Agenda/Date

Body Color 2 - Agenda track title

Body Color 3 - Session name

Body Color 4 - Presenter name

Body Color 5 - Presenter title

Body Color 6 - Currently unused in this template

Paragraph Text Colors

Paragraph Colors affect what we consider main body font sizes and often referred to as P1, P2 tags etc. This is the general text that is used in paragraph and basic text throughout the site.

This Template incorporates 2 Paragraph colors. They are used as follows:

Body Color 1 - Main Body Copy

Body Color 2 - Currently unused in this template

Navigation Text Colors

Navigation text colors are used to change the colors of text in the header and footer navigation bars. These were separate so that we could change colors independently of other text elements. As an example of why this was done. We may want our body text to be black, but it the main nav background is black, then the text would not be visible. Having this as a separate element provides more flexibility in color choices.

This Template incorporates 5 Navigation colors. They are used as follows:

Navigation Color 1 - Top nav text

Navigation Color 2 - Top nav text hover

Navigation Color 3 - Bottom nav text

Navigation Color 4 - Bottom nav text hover

Navigation Color - Currently unused in this template

Accent Colors

Accent colors are used in templates for adding color to various unique elements, such as countdown timer borders etc.

This Template incorporates 3 Navigation colors. They are used as follows:

Accent Color 1 - Countdown timer border

Accent Color 2 - Header color bar

Accent Color 3 - Countdown timer text

Link Colors

Link text colors are used to highlight any hyperlinks that might be in the site and need the ability to "stand out" from stand body text colors.

This Template incorporates 2 Link colors. They are used as follows:

Link Color 1 - Link text color

Link Color 2 - TLink text color hover

Button Colors

Button Colors are used for various buttons on the site, such as submit, enter, register etc.

This Template incorporates 2 button colors. They are used as follows:

Button Color 1 - Primary/homepage buttons

Button Color 2 - Secondary buttons

Social Icons

This configuration element allows the user to choose between gray-scale social media fonts and color social media fonts. This template only allows for either/or and not a mix of grey and color. These icons, will display under the presenter's name if that data field is completed when creating a presenter. If no data is entered in the social medis link fields in the presenter profile, then no social media icons will show
